AN ORDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN FINDINGS; PROVIDING FOR
THE RELEASE OF APPROXIMATELY 117.76 ACRES OF LAND
SITUATED IN THE WILLLIAM GAFFIELD SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO.
448, DENTON COUNTY, TEXAS ALONG THE EDGE OF THE FORT
WORTH EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION, INCLUDING
CERTAIN RIGHT-OF-WAY FROM THE EXTRATERRITORIAL
JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL AMEND EVERY PRIOR ORDINANCE IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE
SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES NOT IN
DIRECT CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
NAMING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 42.023 of the Texas Local Government Code authorizes a
municipality to reduce its extraterritorial jurisdiction by ordinance approved by its governing
body; and
WHEREAS the City of Northlake, Texas, ("Northlake") a general law city, has requested
the City of Fort Worth, Texas ("Fort Worth") release approximately 117.76 acres from the
extraterritorial jurisdiction ("ETJ") of Fort Worth which would permit the inclusion of such
property into the ETJ of Northlake; and,
WHEREAS, the territory sought to be included into the extraterritorial boundaries of
Northlake lies within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Fort Worth and may not be included by
Northlake until such time as released from Fort Worth's ETJ; and,
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the reduction of Fort Worth's ETJ for the
property depicted in Exhibit "A" and allocating such area to Northlake to include in its ETJ; and,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1
Pursuant to the provisions of the Texas local Government Code, Chapter 42, Section
42.023 the City of Fort Worth, Texas hereby releases the land in the City's extraterritorial
jurisdiction as depicted in Exhibit "A," and which is more fully described in the attached metes
and bounds descriptions identified as Exhibit "B," and made a part hereof by reference.

SECTION 2
This ordinance amends every prior ordinance in conflict herewith, but as to all other
ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict, this ordinance shall be, and the same
is hereby made cumulative.
SECTION 3
It is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council that the sections, paragraphs,
sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence,
paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared unconstitutional by the valid judgment or
decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the
remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, and sections of this ordinance, since the same
would have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation in this ordinance of any
such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon adoption.

WILEY EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION EXCHANGE
Being a tract of land in the William Gaffield Survey, Abstract No. 448 in Denton County, Texas, and being more
particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an ell corner of that called 2049 acre tract of land described as Parcel 3 released to Northlake in
Joint Resolution and Agreement, Fort Worth Adopted Resolution No. 2341, being the intersection of the south
right-of-way line of Sam Reynolds Road and the previous west right-of-way line of FM 156;
THENCE South 17 degrees 30 minutes 00 seconds West, along the common line between said previous west
right-of-way and said Parcel 3, a distance of 1,252.00 feet, more or less, to a point for comer,
THENCE South 72 degrees 30 minutes 00 seconds East, continuing along said common line, a distance of 5.00
feet, more or less, to a point for corner;
THENCE South 17 degrees 30 minutes 00 seconds West, continuing along said common line, a distance of 734.57
feet, more or less, to a point for corner;
THENCE South 89 degrees 24 minutes 23 seconds West, departing said common line, a distance of 2,406.61 feet,
more or less, to a point for comer;
THENCE North 00 degrees 10 minutes 09 seconds West, along the west line of said Gaffield Survey, a distance of
1,901.40 feet, more or less, to a point for corner on the common line between said Parcel 3 and said south
right-of-way line;
THENCE North 89 degrees 37 minutes 30 seconds East, along said common Hne, a distance of 3,004.76 feet,
more or less, to the POINT OF BEGINNING AND CONTAINING 5,129,434 square feet or 117.76 acres of land,
