Goodall, City Secretary CALL TO ORDER With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the City Council Regular Session of the Fort Worth City Council to order 6:04 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, in the City Council Chamber of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas. INVOCATION - Reverend Hazel Thomas, Director of Pastoral Care at Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth The invocation was provided by Reverend Hazel Thomas, Director of Pastoral Care of Texas. PLEDGES OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE UNITED STATES AND THE STATE OF TEXAS - (State of Texas Pledge: "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible.") Mayor Parker announced that this was Council Member Firestone's last City Council meeting before the new District 7 Council Member is sworn in at the May 16, 2023, Special Called meeting. Council Member Firestone stated that it had been an honor to serve as the Council District 7 representative for two years and to serve the City. He expressed appreciation to his family, District Director Sami Roop, City Council colleagues, City staff and citizens who supported him. Mayor Parker and Council members expressed their appreciation to Council Member Firestone for his service to District 7 and to the entire City. Mayor Parker presented him with a bronze Red Steagall statue.
