Gonzales, Assistant City Secretary With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the City Council Work Session of the Fort Worth City Council to order 1:12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in the City Council Conference Room 2020 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas. 1. Report of the City Manager - David Cooke, City Manager a. Upcoming and Recent Events There were no upcoming or recent events. b. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s) City Manager Cooke recognized Assistant City Manager Jesica McEachern who recognized the Fort Worth Parks and Recreation Department for receiving the 2023 Outstanding Community Partner Award from the Girl Scouts. Presentation on Proposed Economic Development Program Agreement with Cassco Land Company — Michael Hennig, Economic Development Manager Presentation was made by Michael Hennig, Economic Development Manager. 6. Office of Police Oversight Monitor Director Recruitment and Communication Plan - Dianna Giordano, Human Resources Director and Valerie Washington, Assistant City Manager Presentation was made by Dianna Giordano, Human Resources Director. 7. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports Council Member Nettles requested Informal Reports regarding the following: - Information pertaining to the number and location of Police watch boxes. - Report on the impact of the new tax revenue and how it impacts the budget. - How MedStar's new prioritization system affects the Fire Department's dispatching. How many calls were downgraded that did not require a response from the Fire Department and the types of emergencies. - Update on proposed changes on the Community Oversight Board. Mayor Pro tem Bivens requested Informal Reports regarding the following: - Report from Code Compliance from January to the middle of the year on the types of calls they had to make; whether they were proactively reported or citizen complaints filed, by district. - Report on the 36 cameras in Stop 6 to include if they are still in use in that geographical area or if they have been re -deployed throughout the City. Council Member Beck requested Informal Reports regarding the following: - Report on what security is being provided in community centers. What can be done to enhance security? - Report on the City's vehicle take home car policy to include number of cars by department, distance restrictions pertaining to residences, who pays for fuel and maintenance, and enforcement to ensure compliance.
