Goodall, City Secretary CALL TO ORDER With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Pro tem Bivens called the City Council Public Comment Meeting of the Fort Worth City Council to order at 6:01 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in the City Council Chamber of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas. INVOCATION - Pastor Chris Wright, South Hills Baptist Church The invocation was provided by Pastor Chris Wright, South Hills Baptist Church. The Pledges of Allegiances to the United States of America and the State of Texas were recited. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES Motion: Council Member Nettles made a motion, seconded by Council Member Crain, that the minutes of the Council meeting of April 11, 2023, the Work Session and Public Comment meetings of April 18, 2023, and the Council meeting of April 25, 2023, be approved. Motion passed 7-0. 23-0032 Minutes - April 11, 2023 Council Meeting 23-0034 Minutes - April 18, 2023 Work Session 23-0036 Minutes - April 18, 2023 Public Comment 23-0038 Minutes - April 25, 2023 Council Meeting PUBLIC COMMENTS - The City Council may not discuss or deliberate about a topic not specifically listed on the Agenda, including those presented during the Public Comments section of the Agenda (Tex. Gov't Code § 551.042) 23-0092 Public Comments Bob Willoughby appeared before Council relative to general comments. Jim DeLong appeared before Council relative to A Bullet II. Stephanie Hellstern appeared before Council relative to emergency crisis of fentanyl deaths in Tarrant County. Kennard George completed a speaker card relative to Code Enforcement inadequacies regarding Spectrum cable installation and was recognized by Mayor Pro tem Bivens but was not present in the Council Chambers. City of Fort Worth Page 2 Primed on 51312023 CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC COMMENT MEETING TUESDAY, MAY 2, 2023 Page 3 of 3 Gerald Banks Sr. appeared before Council relative to profiling, police brutality, wrongful arrest/killings, wrongful prosecution, end qualified immunity, etc. Tara Rice, representing Zuri and Jordyn Realty Group, Inc., appeared before Council relative to harassment and lies by FWPD officers. Adrian Smith appeared before Council relative to NA. James Smith completed a speaker card via conference call relative to alleyway maintenance and Atatiana's memory within the police department and was recognized by Mayor Pro tem Bivens but could not be reached by phone. Marialina Tilman appeared before Council relative to Watervue Tenants Association. Payton Jackson appeared before Council relative to Section 2.4. Carolina Rodriguez appeared before Council relative to the City of Fort Worth.
