EXTENSION AGREEMENT to be attached to and form a part of lease (which together with any amendments, modifications and extensions thereof is hereinafter called the Lease) made the 18th day of JANUARY 1 19 95 , between TRACY L. KOBS, ROBERT W. DOWLING, as Landlord, EMILY DOWLING and CITY OF FORT WORTH as Tenant, covering the premises known as 2509 MERRICK STREET, FORT WORTH, TX WITNESSETH that the Lease is hereby renewed and extended for a further term of 12 MONTHS . ...to commence on the 1st day of JUNE 1 19 98 , and to end on the 31st day of MAY 1999 , on condition that Landlord and Tenant comply with all the provisions of the covenants and agreements contained in the Lease, except the rent will increase to $3,300 per month- Tenant will have the option to renew the lease for two one year options at the same rate of $3,300.00 per month. KOBS, ROBERT W. DOWLING AND..EMILY DOWLING FOR A NEIGHBORHOOD POLICING DISTRICT HEADQUARTERS RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council: 1. Authorize the City Manager to renew the lease for 3,250 square feet of office space at 2509 Merrick from Tracy L. Kobs, Robert W. Dowling and Emily Dowling-ata cost of$3,300.00 per month, and 2. Approve the lease term of one year commencing June 1, 1998 and expiring May 31, 1999, with two options to renew for one-year each. DISCUSSION: At the request of the Police Department, Real Property Management has negotiated a lease renewal for space to be used for a neighborhood policing district headquarters for the Como-Arlington Heights area. The lease term is for one year, with two one-year options- to renew. There is a rental charge of $3,300.00 per month for the space, for a total expenditure-of$39,600.00 per year. The monthly rent will increase $300.00 per month, or$3,600.00 per year, over the-previous lease agreement for this space. The City is responsible for payment of all utilities. The funds required for this agreement will be available in the fiscal 1998-99 operating budget. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: The Finance Director certifies that funds are available in the-current operating budget, as appropriated, of the Crime Control and Prevention District Fund.
