Please accept this letter as our written notification for exercising the above-
referenced lease renewal.
We understand that the lease is being renewed for 12 months ( for the period
June 1, 2000 until May 31, 2001) under the same terms and conditions of the
current lease agreement, with the rent remaining $3,300.00 per month.

Your lease agreement expires and you have an option to renew the lease for an
additional 12 months at the rate of$3,300.00 per month.

SUBJECT LEASE EXTENSION FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AT 2509 MERRICK STREET
WITH TRACY L. KOBS, ROBERT W. DOWLING AND EMILY DOWLING FOR A
NEIGHBORHOOD POLICING DISTRICT HEADQUARTERS
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council:
1. Authorize the City Manager to execute a lease extension with Tracy L. Kobs, Robert W. Dowling,
and Emily Dowling for office space located at 2509 Merrick Street at a cost of$39,600 per year; and
2. Approve the lease extension term of one year starting June 1, 1999, and expiring May 31, 2000 with
an option to renew for one year.
DISCUSSION:
At the request of the Police Department, Real Property Management negotiated a lease extension
agreement with Tracy L. Kobs, Robert W. Dowling, and Emily Dowling for office space to be used by
neighborhood policing district headquarters.
The lease extension term is for one year, with a one-year option to renew. There is a rental charge of
$3,300 per month for the space. The City has leased this space since April 1, 1995, and is responsible
for the payment of all utility costs. There is no increase in cost to the City.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that funds are available in the current operating budget, as appropriated,
of the Crime Control and Prevention District Fund.
