AN ORDINANCE INCREASING APPROPRIATIONS- IN THE CRIME CONTROL
AND PREVENTION DISTRICT (CCPD) FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $381,500
AND DECREASING THE RESERVED, UNDESIGNATED FUND BALANCE BY
THE SAME AMOUNT FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING POLICE RECRUIT
TRAINING, CITY VEHICLES AND A CCPD FINANCIAL AUDIT; PROVIDING FOR
A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING TWIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF
PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2006-
2007 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased appropriatinns in the Crime
Control and Prevention District (CCPD} Fund in the amount of $381,500 and decreasing the
reserved, undesignated fund balance for the purpose of funding police recruit training, City vehicles,
and a CCPD financial audit.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a sec#ian of this ordinance foe declared invalid,
inoperative ar void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or
judgment shall in na way impair the remaining portions, sections, or pars of sections of this
ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shad be cumulative of Ordinance No. 17142 and all other ordinances and
appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance
are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said
conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.

This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

Approve Mid-Year Amendment to i=Y2006-2007 Crime Cantral and Prevention ^istrict Budget and
Adopt Appropriation Ordinance
RECOMMENDATION.
It is recommended that the Gity Council:
1. Approve amid-year amendment of $381,500 to the FY2005-2007 Crime Control and Prevention Districfi
(CCPD) budget to fund recruit training, vehicles, and CCPD financiai audit; and
2. Adopt the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing appropriations by $381,500 in the
CCPD Fund and decreasing the reserved, undesignated fund balance by the same amount.
DISCUSSION:
On November 15, 2006, the City Manager submitted to the Crime Control and Prevention District {CCPD)
Baard of Directors an amendment of $381,500 to the FY2006-2007 budget for the following expenditures:
1. Police Recruit Training ($255,500) -During FY2006-2007 the Police Department will require additional
funds to meet the recruit training needs during this fiscal year.
2. Marked Vehicles {$~ 00,000} -The Police Department is recommending the purchase of 3 vehicles for
the Municipal Court Marshals to replace high mileage patroi vehicles to be used for warrant service and 3
vehicles for the Fire Department Arson Investigators.
3. CCPD Financial Audit ($25,000) -Funding for this is based upon the CCPD Board afi Director's approval
of a ane~time audit of the CCPD Fund.
The CCPD Board held a public hearing on November 15, 2006, and approved the mid-year amendment to
the FY2005-2007 Crime Cantroi and Prevention budget to fund these recommendations.
FISCAL. INFORMATIONICERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the
attached supplemental appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the current operating budget, as
appropriated, of the Crime Control and Prevention District Fund. The CCPD fund balance will be
$30,845,502 after the appropriation.
