CALL TO ORDER
With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Parker called the Special
Called Meeting for the Election Canvass of the Fort Worth City Council to order 5:30
p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in the City Council Chamber of the Fort Worth City
Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas.

INVOCATION - Pastor John Reed, The Walls of Jericho Deliverance Church
The invocation was provided by Pastor John Reed, The Walls of Jericho Deliverance
Church.
PLEDGES OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE UNITED STATES AND THE STATE
OF TEXAS - (State of Texas Pledge: "Honor the Texas flag; I pledge allegiance
to thee, Texas, one state under God, one and indivisible.")
The Pledges of Allegiance to the United States of America and the State of Texas were
recited.
CERTIFICATION OF OFFICIAL RETURNS BY CITY SECRETARY
A. Run -Off Election Held on June 10, 2023, for the Purpose of Electing a City
Councilmember for City Council District 11
City Secretary Goodall advised Council that they had been provided with the
certifications and tabulations of the official elections returns from Tarrant County for the
Run -Off Election held on Saturday, June 10, 2023, for the purpose of electing a City
Council Member for District 11 of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, with the certified
cumulative returns for such election. She stated that as a result of the tabulations, the
following person was hereby elected to the City Council:
Council Member District 11: Jeanette Martinez
RESOLUTIONS
23-0381 A Resolution Canvassing the Returns; Declaring the Results of the Run -Off
Election Held on June 10, 2023, For the Purpose of Electing a City Council Member
for District 11 of the City of Fort Worth
Mayor Parker requested the Council show approval of the resolution by a show of
hands for the record.
Motion: Resolution No. 5755-06-2023. Motion passed 5-0, Mayor Pro tem Bivens
and Council Members Williams, Nettles, and Beck absent.
PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION
Mayor Parker presented the Certificate of Election to Council Member -Elect Jeanette
Martinez.

ADMINISTRATION OF OATH OF OFFICE
Gloria Martinez administered the Oath of Office to Council Member -Elect Jeanette
Martinez.
(Council Member Martinez took her place at the dais.)
REMARKS AND INTRODUCTIONS BY COUNCILMEMBER
Council Member Martinez expressed appreciation to her family, friends, citizens of Fort
Worth, and staff for their support and provided remarks relative to her vision for the
future of Fort Worth and her respective duties. Mayor Parker extended congratulations to
Council Member Martinez on her election.
ADJOURN
There being no further business, Mayor Parker adjourned the meeting at 5:39 p.m.
