A portion of the 2004 CIP Railroad Safety Program funds, as well as funds in the amount of $285,031 from the Special Assessments Fund will be used for the construction of Sedona Street, Yuma Street to Dead End. Sedona Street is to be constructed as a result of a settlement with the Fort Worth & Western Railroad (FWWRR) (M&C G-14691). The settlement required the city to close two street crossings over the FWWRR at other locations. One of these street crossing locations was the Mississippi Avenue underpass and as a result of the closure, a parcel of private property lost access to a public street. The construction of Sedona Street is required to provide access for the private property to a public street. This project was advertised on July 27, 2006 and August 3, 2006.
