AMENDMENT NO. 1
STATE OF TEXAS CITY SECRETAY CONTRACT NO. L)V
COUNTY OF TARRANT
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth ("City") and LANDTEC
Engineers ("Engineer") made and entered into City Secretary
Contract No. 26,535 (the "Contract") dated January 16,2001; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves miscellaneous engineering
services on a per job basis for a term of .eighteen (18) months;
and
WHEREAS, City and Engineer desire to extend the- term of the
contract under the same terms and conditions .
NOW THEWREFORE, City and Engineer, acti.ng .herein by and
through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the
following agreement that amends the Contract:
Article III of City Secretary Contract 26535 is hereby
amended to be and read as follows:
"TERM
This agreement shall terminate on the earlier of the
following:
1 . July 15, 2003; or
2 . The complete expenditure of funds appropriated for
this agreement as of the date the agreement was
originally executed. "

All provisions of the contract, which are not expressly
amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect.
EXECUTED on this the day of May, 2002, in Fort Worth,
Tarrant County, Texas .

SUBJECT AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. 26535 WITH LANDTEC
ENGINEERING, LLC FOR CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING SERVICE FOR
VARIOUS CITY OF FORT WORTH PROJECTS
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to
City Secretary Contract No. 26535 with LandTec Engineering, LLC to extend the contract and to
complete the expenditures of the original contract amount.
DISCUSSION:
On January 16, 2001 (M&C C-18430),.the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute a
contract with LandTec Engineering, LLC for geotechnical and construction testing services for a period
of eighteen months, with an aggregate fee not to exceed $200,000.
The current contract expires July 15, 2002, and to date approximately $46,000 of the $200,000 not to
exceed contract amount has been spent. LandTec Engineering, LLC has requested that the contract
be extended an additional twelve months. Staff has reviewed LandTec Engineering, LLC's proposal
and recommends extension of the contract with a remaining not to exceed balance of$134,000.
LandTec Engineering, LLC has agreed to continue working at the same unit rates established under the
original contract.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that this action will have no material effect on City funds.
