DISGl15SfN:
The City's Environmental Coflection Center is now in its sixti year of operation colfecing househa[d
hazardous wast from the citizens of Fart Worth ad svrrounding communities on a year round basis.
In order' for ron-Fort Worth citizens to participate at the Environmertal Colc#ian Center, each
municipaity is reqired to eter into an interlacal agreement with the City of Fort Warth.
The rate per househol for the period covered b.y these agreements {Oc#aber 1, 2002 through
5apember 3, 2D03} is $50.00. The decrease i the rate is due to receit of a grant from tFe Nar#h
Central Texas Cauncil of Governments fhat will provide $1 Q,040 for disposal costs during FY2Q2-
2003. ?t s anticipated that approximately $420,QOD wl be coIected under these agreemerts. During
FY20D-2002 tweny-six area communities signe parEicipation agreements with the City of Fort Wortt.
For the upcaming year we expect a11 af ihase communities. to paricipate and have had interest
expressed by six others. _ .
Tiis agrement flutiires te respansibilities of each party, establishes the rate far participation, and
delineates the usage of service marked, pubCic education material. The City of Fflrt 1Nort is
responsible far ovrall operatiors of. the Enironmental Callecfiion Cen#r icluding contracting with a
hazardaus waste C15pQSI campany fior transpartatian and disposal of materials coElected. Th
