Adop# the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropria#ions in the Sewer Capital Project Fund in the amoun# of $55,97Q from a�ailab�e funds; and 3. DISCUSSlON: Qn March 19, 2002 (M&C C-� 5865}, the Ci#y Council autharized the City iilianager ta execute a contract with Haiff Assoc�ates, {nc. in the amount o� $135,600 for Sanitary Sewer Rehaqilitation Contract LXIV (64). The cantract was subsequently revised by ane pre�ious amendment in the amo�nt af $4B,19o. In order to alleviate sewer backup to se�er�l residents cor�nected to sewer laterals L-1583, L.-2347, and L-7121, and sewer mains M-62R and �[40R, which are located in close proximity t� this project, it is necessary #o replace approximately 4,232 fieet of old and se�erely deteriaraied pipe segmer�ts of the identi�ed sewer laterals and mains. The poor candition of t�e pip� se�men#s was unknown prior to approval of the contract. The location nf ti�e proposed wark is shown on the �ttached drawings. H�Iff Associates, Inc. proposes to provide ths necessary additional design and survey services for a fee of $55,970. StafF cansiders t�is amount to be fair and reasanable.
