ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE DISCONTINUING TERRITORY FROM
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THIS
ORDINANCE SHALL AMEND EVERY PRIOR ORDINANCE
IN DIRECT CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING THAT
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF ALL
PRIOR ORDINANCES NOT IN DIRECT CONFLICT;
AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND NAMING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described territory within the corporate
limits of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, be and the same is
hereby discontinued as a part of the City of Fort Worth, Texas;
said territory being the areas shown on Exhibit "A" , attached
hereto and made a part hereof, and described by metes and bounds
as follows:
TRACT 1.
A tract, 16.413 acres out of a certain 199.86 acre
tract in Block 9, Shelby County School Land Survey,
Abstract 1375, known as Block 1, Everman Junior High
School Site in deed to the First Penn. Mtg. and Trust
of N.J. in Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas.
BEGINNING at a nail in the centerline of County Road
1098, being 4109.3 feet N. 890 45'E of the centerline
of Oak Grove Road, and being the southeast corner of
said 16.413 acre tract.
THENCE North 00 201W. , 916 feet to an iron pin for a
corner.
THENCE South 890 401W. , 387.42 feet to an iron pin for
a corner.
THENCE North 00 20'W. , 417.4 feet to an iron pin for a
corner.
THENCE South 890 40'W. , 124.5 feet to an iron pin for
a corner.
THENCE South 120 31'W. , 1367.0 feet to a nail in the
centerline of County Road 1098 for a corner.
THENCE North 890 45E. , 807.9 feet to the place of
BEGINNING, containing 16.488 acres, more or less.
TRACT 2.
That certain tract or parcel of land out of Block 9,
Shelby county School Land survey, Abstract No. 1375,
more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin in centerline of a sixty foot
public roadway (Townley Drive) , said point being
1284.59 varas North and 1476.65 varas East of the
southwest corner of the Shelby County School Land
Survey;
THENCE South with the centerline of Dan Meyer Road
417.42 feet to a railroad spike for corner;

THENCE North 89' 55' West, at 30.0 feet past west
right-of-way line of said road and continuing on, in
all, a total distance of 417.42 feet to a steel rod
for corner;
THENCE North 417.42 feet to a steel rod for corner;
THENCE South 89' 55 ' East at 387.42 feet, past the
west right-of-way line of road and, continuing on, in
all, a total of 417.42 feet to the place of BEGINNING
and containing 4 acres of land, more or less.
TRACT 3.
A tract or parcel of land out of Block 25, Shelby
County School Land, Abstract 1375, in the southern
part of Tarrant County, Texas, and being a portion of
the property conveyed to Charity Griffith in that
certain deed recorded in Volume 639 on Page 626 of the
Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas;
BEGINNING at an iron pin in the west right-of-way line
of Forest Hill Drive, said iron stands South 0'20'
West 1395 feet and North 89' 40' West 40 feet from the
northeast corner of said Block 25;
THENCE South 0' 20' West with the west right-of-way
line of said Forest Hill Drive for a distance of
250.0 feet to an iron for corner;
THENCE North 89' 40' West for a distance of 522.72
feet to an iron for corner;
THENCE North 0' 20' East for a distance of 250.0 feet
to an iron for corner;
THENCE South 89' 40' East for a distance of 522.72
feet to the place of BEGINNING, and containing 3.0
acres of land, more or less.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior
ordinance in direct conflict herewith, but as to all other
ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict
herewith, this ordinance shall and the same is hereby made
cumulative.
SECTION 3.
That it is hereby declared to be the intent of the City Council
that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of
this ordinance are severable, and if any phrase, clause,
sentence, or paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be
declared unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree of any
court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality shall
not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences,
paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same would
have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation
in this ordinance of any such unconstitutional phrase, sentence,
paragraph or section.

SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, and it is so ordained.

On November 2, 1983, Dr. Joe C. Bean, Superintendent of the Everman Independ-
ent School District, requested disannexation of a 16.488-acre tract of land
immediately west of Everman High School and a 3.0-acre tract located on the
Souder Elementary School site west of Forest Hill Drive,* In addition, the City
of Everman has requested the release of a 4.0-acre tract known as the Church of
Christ site adjacent to the Everman High School site.
The City of Everman has agreed to annex the subject sites when the City of Fort
Worth approves the disannexation request.
A Joint Resolution and Agreement has been approved by the City Councils of both
Fort Worth and Everman.
Recommendation
It Is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached disannexation ordin-
ance*
