BACKGROUND: Tb� Couniy and the Cities of Far� Worth and Arlington reached an agr�ement on a collaborative ei�'art � to share Local Law Enforcement Block G:rant Funds (LLEBG}. Tarrant County Government, the City ; of Arlington and t�1e City af Fort Worth are jointly eligible for $],396,821. Fort Worth is eli�ible to ' receive $925,325, Arlington $4�7,782, and Tarrant County $22,713 (excIudes cash matcla). � Tarrant Cour�ty and the Cities nf Fort Warth and Arlington have agreed to follovt+ the same process as 2001 with no program clianges. The negotiated LLEBG fi.�nding from the Cities oi Fort Worth and Arlington wi11 also support the Adult Drug Court prograrn in the amount of$1b4,6S8 {cash match included), in addition to the Mental Healtn Liaison Program in the arnount of $59,'1A�� {cash match included). Law Enfarcement Block Grant Funds than Tarrant Caunty. Legislation govern�ng disparity requires that agencies that are certified must aggregafe their funds and develap a joint application. The legislafion does nat speak ta the cont�nts of the jo�nt application, or haw fhe funds should be divided. To this end, representatives of Fort WortF�, Tarrani County, and Arfington der�eloped a plan acceptable ta a!1 par�ies. Fiscal Year 2002 funding of the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Program for Fart Worfh includes $926,326 in federal funds wit� a required $102,925 in cash mafch and an additianal match of $32,54� for the Menial Health L.iaison Projecf, for a total of $1,Q61,795, $896,794 of these funds will be used for the Comin' Up program. It is estimated the grani will be awarded in th� �atter part of October 2a02. Transfer of fiunds to Tarrant County is subject to a grant awar� frvm the Deparkment of Justice.
