RECMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the Ciy Manager to execute interlocal ageements
with variaus municpalities/entities for participation at the Enirnnmental Colection Geter.
DISCUSSION:
Te City's Environmental Collectian Ceter is naw in its sixth year of aperation collecting hosehold
hazardous waste from the citizens af 'ort Worth and surrounding communities on a year round basis.
In order fvr non-Fort Worth citizens to paricipate at the Enironmental Goflection Center, each
municipality is required to enter into an inferlacai agreement with the City of For Warth.
The rate per household for the period cavered by these agreements {October 1, 2002 through
Septembe 30, 2003} is $O.aO. The decrease in the rate s due to receipt of a grant from the North
Central Texas Council ofi Governments that wiEl provide $150,000 for disposa! costs during FY2002-
2003. It is anticEpated that approximately $420,000 will be collected under these agreements. During
FY20(}1-2002 twenty-six area cammunities. signed participatian agreements witl the City vf Fort Worih.
Far th upcoming year we xpect all of those commities ta parkicpate and haue had interest
