Authorize the City Manager ta �x�cu#e a lease e�ct�nsion with United Community Centers, Inc. for office space located at 97Q East Hum�a�t Street at no cost; and 2. Authflrize the I�ase extension to begin April 1, 2D�3, and expire March 3�, 2004, with two 92-month renewal options. DfSCUSSION: The Engineering Departme�t, Real Property Services Divisian, at the request of the Police Department, has negotiated a fease e�ctension with United Community Ceniers, Inc. for affice space to be used as a police storefront. The lease term is for one year, with two 12-month options to renew. The City will pay no rent for the space. The landlord is responsible for a11 utility payments, incfuding telephan� se►vice. The Palice Department has occupied this space since June �998. RENEWAL OPTIONS - This agreement may be renewed for up tn iwo sc�ccessive one-y�ar terms at the City's option. This acfiian does nofi require specific City Council approval pravi�ed #hat the City Council has appropriated sufficient funds #a satisfy the City's obligatians du�ing the renewal term.
