maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, C�TY and ENGINEER, acting hexeyn by and th�ough
their duly autharized representa�ives, enter into th� £allowinq
agreement, whieh amen,ds the CONTRACT:

� Article I, af the Cantract is amended to include the additional
enga.neering services specified in M&C C-1.9140, adopted by the City
Council an �.he 2�'d day of July, 2d02 and further ampl�.fied in a
proposa], letter dated May 16, 2002, copies of which are both
a.ttached hereto and incorpora�ed herein, Th� cost to CITY for the
add�.tional services ta be performed by ENGINEER tatal $100,062.50.

incr�ase in the max�mum �ee ta be paid to ENGINEER for all v�rork
and services performed under the CONTRACT, as amended, so that the

The purpose of tl�is �ortion of the praposal is to adj�st tlae fees associated '�vitli the Evans Avenue pz�oject
iza z•esponse to several additions of worfc requested by the City tiiafi are either ide�ltified as "additioiaal
services" xn tl�e original scope or a.re not ide�ltifed as services to 6e provided. The ser�vices in question
include:
A. Seven additional value a]teri�ative� to respond to the requ�st by the City SYa�f for the
vaiue engineering of the projecY following �l�e public m�etin�,
B. Seven additiQnal apinions of probable construction costs associated witl� tl�e s�veii value
alternatives to xaspond to the request by the City Staff for value engineering of the
project. �
G. The original Scoge for the Stor� Telling aspect of ihe project included ih� in�erviews and
firanscription of four designated citizens. Tlie designaied Worki�g G�•oup Co�ninittee
{WGC} expanded the approaclz wl�ich required �weekly attendance of Sto�y Telling
Meetin�s {�0 stary-telIing meetings). The Engineer's invalvement fncluded the
additinnal interviews beyond scope lirt�itatian af A{30 [11�0TVLBW3 and assoczated
transcription).

�n January 1 �, 20�0 (M&C G�12784), the City Council authorized the City Manager to apply for a grant
in t�e amount of $1,2Qa,000.00 fram th� Ecanomic Develapment Administration far Heritage Center.
T�e City"s participafion for the grant is in the amaunt of $8�3,0OO,OD. The total funding of
$2,013,000.40 will be used to reeonstruct Evans Avenue trom East Rosedale Street to Terrell Avenue
with urban design elements including p[aza, fauntain, trees, landscaping, irrfgatior�, benches,
monuments, ar�, signage, enhanced �aving, and lighting.
�n March 27, 200'f (M&C C-� 852�), tF�e City Council authorized the City Manager .to execute an
engineering services agreement with Huitt-Zof[ars, Inc. to �re�ar� construction plans and specificatians
for Evar�s Avenue Urban Design from East Rosedale Street to Terrell Avenue in the amo�nt of
$236,564.a0.
During the design process, tF�e Citizen's Ad�isory Committee requested additional engineering design
in order to be�ter evaluate alternatives, prov9de ad�rtional community involvement, and incorporate
additional bid items in the construction documents. City staff agreed with t�eir req�ests. The additiona{
fee of $1 a0,062.50 for 5upplemental Agr�ement No. 1 is for the fallowing additional design an�
construcfion administration services:
m Design of seven additional alternatives; and
� Construction cost estimafes for the seven alternatives; and
� Additional inferviews for the historic storytelling aspect of the projecf; and
