With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Pro tem Bivens called the
City Council Work Session of the Fort Worth City Council to order 1:12 p.m. on
Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in the City Council Conference Room 2020 of the Fort
Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas.

b. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s)
City Manager Cooke called on Assistant City Manager Dana Burghdoff to recognize
D.J. Harrell, Development Services Director, for receiving the "GFWBA's Spirit of
Cooperation" Award.
City Manager Cooke called on D.J. Harrell to introduce Evan Roberts and LaShondra
Stringfellow, the new Assistant Directors within the Development Services
Department.
City Manager Cooke, called on Reyne Telles, Communications and Public
Engagements Director, to introduce Vanessa Frias and Cameron Gorman, two new
members of the Communications and Public Engagement team.

4. Update on Future City Hall — Tanyan Farley, Athenian Group

Council Member Lauersdorf requested staff consider ways to expand contracting
opportunities that veteran and service owned disable companies.
Council Member Beck requested with staff to discuss options for uses for the green
space surrounding the Future City Hall.
5. Presentation on Zoning Notifications Policy/Procedure - DJ Harrell,
Development Services Director and Stephen Murray, Development Services

Presentation was made by D.J. Harrell, Development Services Director, and Stephen
Murray, Development Planning Manager.
6. Update on Global Fort Worth - Valerie Washington, Assistant City Manager
and Carlo Capua, Chief of Strategy and Innovation
Presentation was made by Valerie Washington, Assistant City Manager, and Carlo Capua,
Chief of Strategy and Innovation.
Council Member Hill encouraged staff to establish clearly defined roles and relationships
between Global Fort Worth, Economic Development Partnership (EDP) and the
Chamber.
7. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports
Council Members Blaylock and Hill requested additional information on Global Fort
Worth and similar programs in peer cities including funding for the programs in peer
cities.
Council Member Hill requested information on the process which the City site selects and
contracts with landfills.
Council Member Hill requested information on the amount spent, the names of the
companies, and the projects worked on for any external audits or external consultants for
the past fiscal year and the current fiscal year to date.
Council Member Hill requested a presentation by Economic Development Partnership
(EDP) with the Chamber on how the City, EDP and Chambers are working together.

Council Member Beck requested an update from the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition
and the City on state of homelessness in the City and to schedule quarterly updates to the
Neighborhood Quality and Revitalization Committee.
Mayor Pro tem Bivens requested staff schedule meetings with the various school districts
that touch the City and Council.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Council Member Flores adjourned the meeting at 2:18
p.m.
