auto theft is often hinde�ed because the range of operafinns of the criminal offender is
greater than the jurisdictian of the peace officers called upon to in�es#igate the crime;
and,
1f�H���As the exisfence of a mu[tipiicity af pnlitical jurisdictions in iarrant, Jack,
Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker and Vllise Caunties imp�des th� effectiven�ss of indi�idual
law enforcement agencies to detecf and eradicate auto theft; and,
VIsHEaEas past experience has indicated that a cooperati�e effort between lavar
enforcement agencies and iarrant Caunty has been effecti�e in detectin� and de#erring
the acti�ities of targeted criminai groups to the mutual benefit of all the poli�'rcal entities
of iarrant County and neighboring counties, and
l�VH�R�a►s pursuant to Chapter 362 of the iexas �ocal �o�ernment �ode, the
Texas Interlocal Caoperation �ct, Chap#er 791 of th� isxas Gverernmen# Code, and
Rrticle ��13(3�} af the iexas Re�ised Ci�il �tatutes Annotated, an �4cf relating to the
creatinn, powers and duties of the iexas Automobile iF�eft F�rer�ention Authority, and
th� lav� of the �tate of iexas, the confrac�ing cities ta�wit: i4rlington, Azle, �enbroo�,
�uless. �ort 11Vorth, Haltvm City, Kurst, R'rver Oaks, Sansam Par�, 1�1'es#worth Vil[age

intell�gence �eceided by a la� enforcement agene� that is a pa�ty to this agreement may
be ref�rred to the �aslc �orce far inves#igatior�, ihe Yask �a�ce will rnair�tain intelligence

be entit[ed to reirr�bursement from another enti#y papticipating in this agreement for an�r
serr�ices per�formed pursusnt to this agr�ement.
jT is fu�ther agreed fhat, in the e�e�t that any peace officer assigned to the Tasl�
I�o�ce is cited as a pawty defendant to any ci+�il [a+�suit, s#ate o� fieder�l, arising out of f��s
o� hep af#icia! acts while functianing as a peace offieer assig�ed to the Task �'o�ce, said
peace afficer shall foe en#itied ta tF�e same benefits that such afifice� ►�►ould be entitled to
receir►e had such ci��l action risen aut of an officia� act within '#he scope of his or �er
duties as a memhe� and in the jurisdiction af the la►� �nforcement agency from wF�ich he
or she vvas assigned. Further, no entity shal� be respansible for the acts of a peace
o�ficer of at�othe� ent[ty assigned to #he iask �orc�. �ach entity participafiing here�n
indemnifies and holds all oth�� participa#ing entities haYmless for all ac�s of its own
afficers and employees acting hereunder, tfl the full exten# permitt�d by law.

for compensation fo� any loss, damage, personal injury, or deati� occur�ing as a
consequence af the perfo�emance of this agreement.
�"H��o party claims against membeps shall be governed b�► #he iexas iort Clai�ns
Act op o#he� appropriate statutes and raws of the Sta#e ofi iexas and fih� Unified States.
17 is expressly understood and agreed that, in the execution of this agreem�nt, no
party r�ai�es, nor shall 6e deemed hereby to r�aive, any immunity orr defense that r�nuld
otherr�ise be ar�ailable to it againsg claims arising in the exercise of gor�e�nmental pow+ers
and f�nctions,
