Additional excavation and concrete encasement of an existing, shallow 24" drain line under digester mixing pad no. 5 (CMR-03). Relocation of mixing pad no. 3 following excavation and utility locates at the original location. The cost of the relocation includes excavating at the new location (CMR-04) and backfilling and paving restoration at the original location (CMR-07). Replace door hardware with panic hardware (CMR-06). Additional length of stainless steel pressure sensing tubing to reduce pressure swings when gas begins flaring (CMR-08). The change will reduce the duration of sludge surging when the flares turn on. Replace 5700 SF of asphalt with concrete paving and eliminate concrete cap over 30" HDPE low pressure gas line (CMR-11). Installation of the 30" HDPE pipe required a wider trench than anticipated with certain areas requiring excavation of the full width of the street. The plans called for permanent trench repair with a concrete cap, which did not work based on the level of excavation needed to install the pipe. It is understood and agreed that the acceptance of this Change Order by the contractor constitutes an accord and satisfaction and represents payment in full (both time and money) for all costs arising out of, or incidental to, the above Change Order. The line was not shown on the plans. The cost includes repairing the ruptured line prior to rerouting. • Additional excavation, bracing, and concrete encasement of an existing, shallow 24" drain line under digester mixing pad no. 5 (CMR-03). • Relocation of mixing pad no. 3 due to utility conflicts at the original location. The cost of the relocation includes excavating at a new location (CMR-04) and backfilling and paving restoration at the original location (CMR-07). • Replace door hardware with panic hardware (CMR-06). • Additional length of stainless steel pressure sensing tubing to reduce pressure swings when gas begins flaring (CMR-08). The change will reduce the duration of sludge surging when the flares turn on. • Change 5700 SF of asphalt paving to concrete paving and eliminate concrete cap over 30" HDPE low pressure gas line (CMR-11). Installation of the 30" HDPE pipe required a wider trench than anticipated with certain areas requiring excavation of the full width of the street. The plans called for permanent trench repair with a concrete cap, which did not work based on the level of excavation needed to install the pipe. Labor hours, material costs, and quantities in the contractors' proposal were reviewed. Approved CMR's are saved in BIM 360. A summary of the negotiation is provided in Table 1. Contract time was not added because the additional work was not on the critical path. It was determined upon review that the cost of the redesign would involve a credit based on a reduced concrete quantity. The credit will be captured in a later change order once adjustments for all of the mixing pads are captured. The contractor waived the cost of the concrete encasement due to issues with installation.
