The follawing statements ar� true and co:rrect and, col�ectively, form fihe basis upon wh�ich the parties have entered infio this Amendmen�: A. On or about August 27, 2002 the parties entered into an interlacal Agreement (the "Agreement") under which the City granted the Co�.nty a non-exclusive iicense to use the south parking lot af LaGrave Field, as speczfically depicted in the Agreement (the ��Parking Lat"), for County juror service parking in retum for tl�e County's undertaking of maintenance af the Parking Lot, as provided in the Agreement. The �greement is a public doeument on file in the City Secretary's Office as City 5ecretary Contraet Na. 27948 a�d in ihe Commissxaners County Clerk's Office listed as Court Order Na. 88339. B. The expiration date established for th� Agreement was Octo�er 3�, 2Q02, with the �nders�anding that prior to the expira.tion date, the Connty and City would ne�ofiia�e a subsequent Inferlocal Agreement that wnu�d address the County's use of the Parking Lot on a mare long-term basis. C. Because negotiations related ta the Couniy's use of the Parking Lot on a rnore long-term basis are near completioz�, but not absolutely finalzzed, the parties wish �o amend the Agreement to provide fnr an expiratzon date af Apri� 30, 2003. NOW, THEREFORE, the Co�aty and the City agree as fallows: 1. The first sentence of Section 1 of the Agreement is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced with the fo�lowing: "Th� ferm o£ this Agreement shall commence on September 3, 2002 and expire an Apri134, 2403." 2. All other terms and conditians of the Agreement not specifically amended by this Amendment shall remazn i.n fii.11 force and effeei. 3. Any capitalized ierms used in fh�is Amendment but not speci�ically defined herein shall have the meanings prot�ided for them by the Agreement. �. This two {2) month TLA was to serve as a b:ridge until a morre Iong- term II,A could be developed. The current agreement ends October 31&`. Whil� there have been negatxations cancerzung the long-term agre�ment, the agreement is not carnplete. Ainendment No. 1 extends the current agreement for six (6) months through Apr:il 30, 2a03. The County has requested a six-month extension af the Interlacal Agreement for th� purpose of providing remote parking for Tarrant County jurars. This extension ailows the City and ihe Gounty tF�e time necessary ta finalize the terms and conditians under wE�ich the County wil! use the parking lot or� a ' more lor�g-term basis.
