DISCUSSION: This Mayor and Council Communication (M&C) provides funding for project management and material testing for water main replacement on Keller Hicks Road. Available funding in the amount of $46,500.00 will be used for an Engineering Agreement with Freese and Nichols, Inc. to prepare plans and specifications for cast iron water main replacement on Keller Hicks Road from Lauren Way to Park Vista Boulevard in conjunction with the roadway improvements proposed by the Transportation and Public Works Department on the roadway. In addition to the contract amount, $40,750.00 is required for project management and material testing. This project will have no impact on the Water Department's operating budget. It is the practice of the Water Department to appropriate its CIP plan throughout the Fiscal Year, instead of within the annual budget ordinance, as projects commence, additional funding needs are identified, and to comply with bond covenants. The actions in the M&C will appropriate funds in support of the Water Department's portion of the City of Fort Worth's Fiscal Years 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program, as follows: 60WMRKHRFNIFUNDING Capital Fund Name Project Name FY2024 CIP Appropriations Authority Budget Adjustment Revised FY2024 Budget W&S Capital Projects — Fund 56002 103276 _ Keller Hicks Road $0.00 This M&C $87,250.00 $87,250.00 Funding is budgeted in the Transfer to Water/Sewer account of the Water and Sewer operating budget for the purpose of funding the Keller Hicks Road Project within the Water & Sewer Capital Projects. The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 10. A Form 1295 is not required because: This M&C does not request approval of a contract with a business entity. FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the Water & Sewer Fund and upon approval of the above recommendation and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance, funds will be available in the W&S Capital Projects Fund for the Keller Hicks Road project to support the above recommendation and execution of the contract. Prior to any expenditure being incurred, the Water Department has the responsibility of verifying the availability of funds.
