HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 26643-12-2023 Ordinance No. 26643-12-2023 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN THE WATER AND SEWER CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF$426,240.00,TRANSFERRED FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS IN THE WATER AND SEWER FUND, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE SANITARY SEWER REHABILITATION, CONTRACT 130 (CITY PROJECT NO. 105177); PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 in the Budget of the City Manager,there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water and Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of$426,240.00,transferred from available funds in the Water and Sewer Fund,for the purpose of funding the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation,Contract 130(City Project No. 105177). SECTION 2. That should any portion,section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid,inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction,such decision,opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions,sections,or parts of sections of this ordinance,which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance 26453-09-2023 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations,in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. Authorize execution of an engineering agreement with Shield Engineering Group, PLLC, in the amount of$229,540.00,for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 130 project;and 2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations in the Water and Sewer Capital Projects Fund in the amount of$426,240.00,transferred from available funds within the Water and Sewer Fund,for the Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 130(City Project No. 105177)to effect a portion of Water's contribution to Fiscal Years 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program. DISCUSSION: This Mayor and Council Communication(M&C)is to authorize execution of an engineering agreement with Shield Engineering Group, PLLC,in the amount of$229,540.00,for Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Contract 130 project for the preparation of plans and specifications for sanitary sewer replacement or installation and cast iron water main replacements as indicated on the following streets,and easements: Street I From I To I Scope of Work E. North 1,050 Sewer Troost Street Rosedale Street feet Installation Intersection This project also provides for the abandonment and relocation of Sanitary Sewer Main M-22 which currently traverses across several parcels of private properties into public street right-of-way as shown on the attached location map. In addition to the contract amount,$196,700.00(Water: $69,000.00;Sewer:$127,700.00)is required for project management, real property acquisition,utility coordination,and material testing.This project will have no impact on the Water Department's operating budget when completed. The sewer component of the project is part of the Water Department's Sanitary Sewer Overflow Initiative Program. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are currently available in the Water and Sewer Fund,and upon approval of the above recommendations and adoption of the attached appropriation ordinance,funds will be available in the W&S Capital Projects Fund for the SS Rehab Contract 130 project to support the above recommendations and execution of the engineering agreement.
