HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 16310-03-2005ll~ro A~ ~-~.5 Ordinance No. AN ORDINANCE INCREASING ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS !N THE SPECIAL TRUST FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,000 AS DONATIONS ARE RECEIVED FROM THE HELEN IRWIN LITTAUER EDUCATIONAL TRUST AND THE BANK OF AMERICA, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING ACTIVIES, MATERIALS, AND PROMOTION OF THE COMMIS810N FOR WOMEN, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2004-2005 in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Special Trust Fund in the amount of $3,000 as donations are received from the Helen Irwin Littauer Educational Trust and the Bank of America, for the purpose of funding activi#ies, materials, and promotion of the Commission for Women. SECTION 2. That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. ~606'I and all ether ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. Accept donations in the amount of $2,500 from the Helen Erwin Littauer Educational Trust and $500 from Bank of America to help underwrite the "2005 Outstanding Women of Fart Worth Awards Celebration and Dinner" and to produce materials to promote the website for the Commission for Women; and 2. Adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts and appropriations by $3,000 in the Special Trust Fund from available funds. DISCUSSION: The Fart Worth Commission for Women advises the City Council on matters important to the community, including heightening the awareness of achievements of women in business and as volunteers. The Commission for Women receives donations from various non-profit organizations and businesses concerned with women's issues, which enables the City to offer its Qutstanding Women of Fort Worth Awards Celebration and Dinner at a reduced rate to the public.
