rsxAC' Subject: PROPOSED SALE OF EXCESS FORT WORTH HOUSING AUTHORITY LAND
fd 7
In 1982, the City of Fbrt Worth purchased 3.72 acres using Comunity
Develognent Block Grant funds as part of the transaction which allowed
the Hunt Building Corporation to construct Section 8 units on Ephriham
Road. The construction has been completed and the units are occupied.
These 3.72 acres are excess property and the Fort Worth Housing Authori-
ty desires to sell it. There are no HUD requirements that would govern
the sale of this property; however, the Fort Worth Housing Authority
will have to comply with State statutes regarding the sale of public
property as presently they hold the title.
Since the property was originally purchased using Community Development
Block Grant funds, the net proceeds of the sale will be returned to the
City of Fort Worth. Deed restrictions should be considered contingent
to the sale to ensure that any proposed development be compatible with
housing units on the adjacent property.
If the City Council concurs with the sale of this property, the Housing
Authority will be advised to proceed with the sale.
If the Council needs additional information, it will be provided upon
request.
