er
The City of Fort Worth Ordinance Nos. 8971 and 8753 on Boards and Commissions
stipulate that the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission is exempt from
membership requirements which require nine-member boards or commissions and
two-year staggered terms. This exemption, therefore, allows the Commission
to not only keep its full membership of twenty-one members but also to
retain the length of Commissioners' terms at three years. If the City
Council desires to have two-year terms for the Commissioners, the staff
will prepare the necessary amendment to the Human Relations Commission
Ordinance No. 5802 and to the board and commission ordinances 8971 and
8753. Such an amendment will allow two-year staggered terms for the
Commission.
To achieve this goal, the terms of half of the places appointed at this
time should be for one year and the other half should be for two years.
Listed below are the Commissioners who are eligible to be reappointed and
a recommendation to which place they could be appointed.
