EXHIBITS BUILDING Background The Exhibits Building in Will Rogers Memorial Center has been opened since January, 1984. At the time the initial equipment was purchased, a minimum amount was ordered since the staff assumed basic demands could be met by shifting it from room to room. However, utilization of the facility has been about 45% more than anticipated. There has also been a corresponding increase in revenues, compared to the previous year. During the past year, the Exhibits Hall was rented 50 out of 52 week- ends. The Round-up Inn was rented 52 out of 52 weekends. The Round-up Inn can be divided into two sections and the Exhibits Hall into three sections. In addition, the South Texas Room can be divided into two sections. Consequently, there are instances in which as many as 4 to 5 events are taking place simultaneously. As a result of this high level of activity, additional equipment needs have been identified. Although the equipment identified below will primarily meet the needs in the Exhibits Building, it can also be used .on an as needed basis in other buildings in WRMC. 25 Trash containers $ 2,750 6 Fbpes & stanchions for crowd control 750 3 Portable clothes racks 600 20 Ash urns 750 20 3'x5' all weather matting 1,600 Snap-on drapes and backdrops for head tables 1$200 2 Tilt trash trucks with lids 1,000 1 High-speed buffer 5,300 10 Sections of portable staging with masking 14,000 1 Portable dance floor 3,400 1 Portable sound system (Soundcraft 400 series) 22,900 Lighting and additional signage for parking garage sign on Lancaster 1,000 Total X55,250- L ISSUED BY THE CITY MANAGER FORT WORTH, TEXAS INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS NO.7013 - Page 2 April 16, 1985 P- 44FORro T o the Mayor and Members of the City Council Subject: EQUIPMENT PURCHASE - AMON G.
