With its increased success and popularity, the festival sponsors believe that they could meet the increasing expenses of providing for the safety and comfort of the public if permitted to charge a nominal admission fee. Permission for the admission fee at the Chisholm Trail Round-Up has been requested in a petition from owners of businesses in the Exchange Avenue area. It is understood that the festival would be conducted at no risk or expense to the City. The Chisholm Trail Round-Up Board of Directors proposes to contribute substantial -park improvements to the City in addition to meeting the expenses of the festival. Council direction is requested as to whether the staff should continue planning d'etails with the Chisholm Trail Round-Up Board of Directors based on the proposed admission fees.
