Subject: NOMINEES TO THE TARRANT APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD
Tarrant County Clerk Madrin Huffman has notified the City of nominees for
two-year terms on the Tarrant Appraisal District Board of Directors beginning
January 1, 1986. The twelve candidates nominated by various taxing entities
in Tarrant County entitled to vote are listed on the attached sheet with
brief biographical sketches.
The Board is elected by cumulative vote of the taxing jurisdictions partici-
pating in the District. Voting strength is determined by a taxing unit's
previous year' s levy. The City of Fort Worth has 987 votes to cast, and a
minimum of 834 votes is required to assure the election of any nominee.
A resolution allowing for Council determination of how to cast the City's
votes will be placed on the Council agenda for the Tuesday, November 12,
meeting so the City of Fort Worth's votes may be forwarded to the County
Clerk prior to the November 15th deadline imposed by the State law.
Should additional information be desired, it will be furnished upon request.
