ACKNOWLEDGING AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF AFFORDABLE RENTAL
HOUSING UNITS IN THE DEVELOPMENT NAMED HUGHES HOUSE 11
LOCATED AT 1401 ETTA STREET IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth's 2023 Comprehensive Plan is supportive of the
preservation, improvement, and development of quality, affordable, accessible rental and
ownership housing;
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth's 2023-2027 Consolidated Plan makes the
development of quality, affordable, accessible rental housing units for the City' s Iow-income
residents a high priority;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth ('City' ), on February 13, 2024,
authorized a resolution (Resolution No. 5893-02-2024) stating that the City has no objection to the
construction of the affordable housing development named Hughes House II (the "Project"),
located at 1401 Etta Street in the City of Fort Worth, which will provide units affordable to
households with incomes at or below seventy percent (70%) of Area Median Income;
WHEREAS, the developer of the Project initially proposed the new construction of 278
multifamily affordable rental housing units;
WHEREAS, the developer of the Project is now proposing to increase the number of
housing units from 278 to 302;
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs' Qualified
Allocation Plan states that the governing body must be notified if information contained in the
initial application for non-competitive housing tax credits changes; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to supplement Resolution No. 5893-02-2024 through this
Resolution to acknowledge the increase in the number of affordable housing units.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT:
I. The City acknowledges that the number of units in the Project will increase from 278 to
302.

The City does not object to the change in the number of units and continues to have no
objection to the application previously supported by Resolution No. 5893-02-2023 for the
development of Hughes House II.�,��,,,
