SUBJECT: FY09-10 NEW SPECIAL EVENTS FEE INCREASE
As part of the budget process, an increase in Special Events fees was approved by the City
Council changing the fees from $150.00 per event to $75.00 per block per day. Staff is
recommending the suspension of this fee increase until a recommendation from the City
Manager's Special Events Advisory Committee and a special event ordinance is presented to the
City Council for consideration and adoption. The Committee's recommendations will include
regulating events in commercial areas and neighborhoods, the application process, enforcement,
and the impact of special events in the city. It is anticipated that the Special Events Advisory
Committee will complete its recommendations by the end of the year.
