HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 9121 INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 9121 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council October 6, 2009 SUBJECT: Proposed Council-Initiated Zoning Changes for the 300 Black of Altamesa Boulevard and the 300 Block of Dupont Circle The August 4 City Council agenda will contain an M&C to initiate the zoning process for the 300 block of Altamesa Boulevard for the 300 block of Dupont Circle that lie west I-35W (South Freeway) and south of Altamesa Boulevard. The purpose of the proposed zoning changes is to rezone vacant land to zoning classifications that are consistent with the 2009 Comprehensive Plan. For your reference, the attached PowerPoint presentation shows the future land use from the 2009 Comprehensive Plan, the current zoning, and the proposed zoning. Councilmember Jordan mailed letters to the affected property owners regarding the proposed zoning changes in May 2009. No opposition has been expressed to date. The public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would be held on November 11, 2009, at the Zoning Commission meeting and at the City Council meeting of December 8.
