SUBJECT: TARRANT COUNTY UPDATE
Of specific interest, at its November 10 meeting, the Commissioners Court approved:
• Tarrant County's participation in City of Fort Worth Tax Increment Financing Reinvestment
Zone #13 —the Woodhaven TIF.
• A Community Facilities Agreement with the City of Fort Worth related to utility
improvements for the new jail project.
• Submission of a grant application, under the ARRA program, for the Communities Putting
Prevention to Work Initiative.

Tuesday's Commissioners Court meeting is posted Friday of the previous week and can be
viewed at the website indicated above.
Mayor ProTem Danny Scarth introduced a briefing regarding proposed amendments to the Fort
Worth Tax Increment Financing Zone #9 — Trinity River Vision TIF. Mark Rauscher, Program
Manager in the City's Transportation and Public Works Department, then presented the details of
j the proposed amendments dealing with the project and financing plans and expansion of the TIF
zone boundaries. Tarrant County and City of Fort Worth staffs are currently negotiating the details
of the amendments with final approval by the County and the City pending such negotiations.
Additionally, regarding the H1 N1 issue, a briefing was provided to the Commissioners Court by
Lou Brewer, Director of the Tarrant County Public Health Department provided the following
report:
• To date, Tarrant County has received slightly more than 4,000 doses of H1 N1 vaccine
while private providers have received over 110,000 doses. Ms. Brewer urged citizens to
seek the vaccine through their private providers.
• Over the course of the past week, 1,212 doses of the nasal version of the H1 N1 vaccine
were administered to first responders.
• Currently, Tarrant County is experiencing a downward trend in the number of confirmed
H1 N1 cases. However; Ms. Brewer expressed concern about citizens travelling during the
holiday period and returning to Tarrant County having contracted H1 N1 elsewhere. She
also emphasized that the current downward trend is probably only a temporary lull in the
situation.
• In response to Ms. Brewer's report, the Court expressed great concern regarding the
disparity of the number of doses received by Tarrant County (4,000) as opposed to the
number of doses received by private providers (110,000). Ms. Brewer responded stating

equitable distribution could not be accomplished within the next week, he recommends the
Court send a letter to the County's legislative delegation outlining the issue and requesting
their leadership and support. The Court readily agreed with the plan.
