HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 9158 INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 9158 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council December 8, 2009 Page 1 of 1 SUBJECT: PROPOSED COUNCIL-INITIATED ZONING CHANGES FOR CERTAIN PROPERTIES LOCATED EAST OF CROWL.EY ROAD AND NORTH OF SYCAMORE SCHOOL ROAD The December 15 City Council agenda will contain an M&C to initiate the zoning process for 1517 Andante Drive, 1601 Country Manor Road, 7501 Crowley Road, and 1516 Sycamore School Road that lie east of Crowley Road, north of Sycamore School Road, and south of Altamesa Boulevard. The purpose of the proposed zoning changes is to rezone institutional uses and vacant land to zoning classifications that are consistent with the 2009 Comprehensive Plan. For your reference, the attached PowerPoint presentation shows the future land use from the 2009 Comprehensive Plan, the current zoning, and the proposed zoning. Council Member Jordan mailed letters to the affected property owners regarding the proposed zoning changes in May 2009. No opposition has been expressed to date. The public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would be held on January 13, 2010, at the Zoning Commission meeting and at the City Council meeting of February 2, 2010.
