SUBJECT: TARRANT COUNTY UPDATE
Of specific interest, at its December 8 meeting, the Commissioners Court approved:
• Installation of speed limit signs of 35 MPH on Hulen Street in Precinct 1
• Lowering the speed limit from 40 MPH to 35 MPH on Tiger Trail in Precinct 1
• Casting Tarrant County's 617 votes for Jim Austin (309) and Tommy Brown (308) to serve
on the Tarrant Appraisal District Board of Directors

Tuesday's Commissioners Court meeting is posted Friday of the previous week and can be
viewed at the website indicated above.
Additionally, regarding the H1 N1 issue, a briefing was provided to the Commissioners Court by
Lou Brewer, Director of the Tarrant County Public Health Department. The details of that briefing
are as follows:
* There has been a slight increase in the number of H1 N1 cases in Tarrant County over the
holiday period (no specific numbers were available).
r9 As of December 8:
• Tarrant County had received 63,600 doses of the H1 N1 vaccine
• Private sources have received 340,107 doses of the H1 N1 vaccine
* An additional public event was held December 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Tarrant
County College Northwest Campus —free to the public
* Tarrant County now has all 12 of its sights open and distributing the H1 N12 vaccine free to
the public

• The 5 store fronts listed in previous reports
