Subject: OWNER-INITIATED FULL-PURPOSE ANNEXATION OF 0.5 ACRE FOR
r F JBH WESTPORT ADDITION
The February 12 City Council agenda will contain an M&C to approve the owner-initiated
annexation of AIL Investment property, located in Tarrant County, as part of a larger
industrial site (AX-13-001). This site is located south of Intermodal Parkway and west of
FM 156. The 0.5-acre annexation area is part of a drainage area on a 25.4-acre
industrial lot. Annexation of this area will prevent a single lot from having split jurisdiction
between the City and our extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ).
The annexation of this area would be an addition to Council District 2. Attached is a
PowerPoint for reference. Annexation of this site is expected to have no impact on the
General Fund. The fiscal impact analysis is posted on the Planning and Development
Department's website at
http-//fortworthtexas.qov/planninqanddevelopmeat/des'iqn.aspx?id=8660.
The City is able to provide municipal services upon annexation in accordance with State
law, without negatively impacting service provision within the city. Annexation of this site
is consistent with the City's annexation policy to consider full-purpose annexation for
areas experiencing urban development and areas in an industrial growth center. The
City Council annexation approval is anticipated to occur on February 12, 2013. Staff is
also processing an associated final plat for several industrial lots.
Should you have any questions, please contact Randle Harwood, Planning and
Development Director, at 817-392-6101.
