X Subject: Petition for Establishment of Fort Worth Improvement District
`271 No. 1
On June 3, 1986, the City Council received a petition requesting establishment
of the Fort Worth Improvement District No. 1 and adopted M&C G-6686. The
M&C directed the City Manager and City Attorney to review the petition to
determine whether it includes the necessary signatures and meets the other
requirements of Article 1269j-4.12, V.A.C.S. , the Public Improvement District
Assessment Act.
The City Manager and City Attorney have reviewed the petition and find that
it includes the signatures of 57 percent of the property owners in the proposed
district, the signatures of the owners of 77.4 percent of the taxable land
area in the proposed district, and the signatures of owners representing
90.8 percent of the appraised value of taxable real property in the proposed
district, including the value of structures and other improvements, as
determined by the current roll of the Tarrant Appraisal District.
The petition contains sufficient signatures and meets other applicable
requirements of Article 1269j-4.12. If the City Council desires to institute
proceedings to establish the proposed district, the petition is sufficient
to authorize the Council to do so.
