Home My WebLink AboutContract 59227-A1City of Fort Worth, Texas WRMC Coliseum, Burnett and Moncrief Design 105158 Revision Date: 12/08/2023 Page 1 of 3 AMENDMENT No. One TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT No. 59227 WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and PBK Architects, Inc, dba BEAM Professionals, (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 59227, (the CONTRACT) which was administratively authorized on the 13th day of April, 2023 in the amount of $ 99,000.00 ; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project: Roof Replacement Design for the Coliseum, Burnett and Moncrief Roofs located at 3401 W. Lancaster, CPN 59227; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. One to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOW THEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1. Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in proposal attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer totals $672,000.00. (See Attached Funding Breakdown Sheet, Page -4-) 2. Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $771,000.00. 3. All other provisions of the Contract, which are not expressly amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect. BEAM will deliver full comprehensive Building Envelope Consulting services for this reroofing projects. Our team understands the time sensitivity of these projects and stands ready to deliver as needed. I. SCOPE OF WORK: Will Roqers Center Coliseum Roof, Burnett Roof and MoncrieflWatt Arena Roofs 3401 W Lancaster Avel Fort Worth, 7X 76107 Construction Documents: Provide complete roof replacement construction documents, bidding services and construction administration services for the above building at the Will Rogers Center address. BEAM Professionals will provide design, construction documents, assistance in bidding and construction administration to provide design services for reroofing scopes of the above campuses. II. SCOPE OF SERVICES: BEAM understands the scope of work to be as follows: Construction Documents (CD) — BEAM will develop a design solution based on existing conditions. We will then develop the design into a set of documents and specifications that define in sufficient detail all components of the project. This documentation will be suitable for bidding, permitting. Deliverables in the CD phase will include: • Roof plans • Roof Details • Specifications • Bidding and Negotiations: • Pre-Construction meeting: • Contractor Shop Drawing review: • Construction Phase Observations: BEAM will attend a pre-proposal conference/walk with the contractors. BEAM will provide addenda and clarification during the bidding process for construction and purchasing. Construction Administration — Contract administration will include the processing of shop drawings and submittals, site visits by a designated BEAM construction representative will be conducted on a regular basis, attend OAC meetings weekly or as designated by the district. COMPENSATION: BEAM is pleased to offer our comprehensive corporate design services for this project at an approximate fee of assessment fee and 6°/a of the estimated roof replacement of the project. DISCUSSION: The purpose of this Mayor and Council is to authorize execution of amendment No. 1 to a professional services agreement with PBK Architects, Inc. d/b/a BEAM Professionals for design services in the amount of $672,000.00 for roof replacement design for the Coliseum, Burnett and Moncrief roofs located at 3401 W. Lancaster, on the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus. A Professional Services Agreement with BEAM Professionals in the amount of $99,000.00 for Will Rogers Auditorium roof replacement was administratively authorized on April 13, 2023 (City Secretary Contract No. 59227). BEAM Professionals will develop a design solution based on existing conditions and provide a set of construction documents and specifications for each roof. Funding - Funding for this project is the result of M&C 23-085, approved by the City of Fort Worth Council on October 17, 2023. Tranche 1, available January 1, 2024 provided $6,000,000.00 for City Project No. 105158, WRMC Roof Rep Col Bur Mon, and Tranche 2, available January 1, 2025 will provide the remaining balance of $3,600,000.00, bringing the total project budget for City Project No. 105158, WRMC Roof Rep Col Bur Mon, to $9,600,000.00. Business Equity —Awaiver of the goal for Business Equity subcontracting requirements was requested, and approved by the DVIN, in accordance with the applicable Ordinance, because the waiver request is based on the Engineering firm is a pre-approved City vendor that specializes in roof design. The Will Rogers Memorial Center is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 7. FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION: The Director of Finance certifies that funds are available in the current capital budget, as previously appropriated, in the Spcial Tax Rev Bnd Serie 2023A Fund for the WRMC Roof Repair Col Mon Bur project to support the approval of the above recommendation and execution of the agreement. Prior to an expenditure being incurred, the Property Management and Public Events Departments have the responsibility of verifying the availability of funds.
