HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 7226 INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 7226 I,PT14,0 October 27, 1987 �U FoRT,o To the Mayor and Members of the City Council u �s Subject: UPDATE ON EQUESTRIAN CENTER 167 On December 18, 1986, City Council authorized the City Manager to execute a contract with Spaw-Glass Construction, Inc. , to construct the new Will Rogers Equestrian Center. Two change orders have been added since that time to bring the total cost to date to $17,994,892. Construction began with the ending of the 1987 Stock Show on February 9, 1987. First usage of any portion of Building "A" begins on Sunday, October 25th with the Shrine Circus using dressing rooms, livestock pens and the East-West Alley. The Building will not be used south of the East-West Alley. Next usage, which will encompass all of Building "A" will be on December 2nd when the National Cutting Horse Futurity uses the building. As of this date, Building "A" is approximately 97% complete and an . inspection was completed today on the portion of the building being utilized by the Shrine Circus. Building "B" is approximately 70% complete and will be used first by the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show. The Parking Garage is 95% complete. Grand opening of the facility is planned for Tuesday, January 19, 1988.
