FIRST AMENDMENT TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT NO. 60401
This Amendment ("Amendment") is entered into by and between the City of Fort Worth
("City") and Girls Inc. of Tarrant County ("Agency"). City and Agency may be referred to
individually as "Party" and collectively as "Parties."
WHEREAS, the City and Agency made and entered into City Secretary Contract No.
60401 ("Contract") on October 1, 2023;
WHEREAS, City receives grant monies from the United States Department of Housing
and Urban Development ("HUD") through the Community Development Block Grant Program
("CDBG"), Program No. B-23-MC48-0010, Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance No. 14.218;
WHEREAS, Section 5 of the Contract permits Agency to request an amendment of
EXHIBIT "A"- Program Summary and the Parties wish to amend the Program Summary to include
additional locations in which Agency will provide Services;
WHEREAS, City believes that the requested amendment will help Agency meet the
program's goals and further the interests of both Agency and City; and
WHEREAS, it is the mutual desire of City and Agency to amend the Contract to complete
the Program and meet Contract objectives.
NOW, THEREFORE, City and Agency hereby agree to amend the Contract as follows:
I.
EXHIBIT "A"- PROGRAM SUMMARY attached to the Contract is hereby amended and
replaced in its Entirety with EXHIBIT "A" Revised 1/19/2024, attached hereto.
II.
This amendment is effective as of January 19, 2024.
All terms and conditions of the Contract not amended herein remain unaffected and in
full force and effect, are binding on the Parties and are hereby ratified by the Parties. Capitalized
terms not defined herein shall have the meanings assigned to them in the Contract.

PROGRAM:
Program provides in -school, after -school, and summer education and activities to promote social &
emotional wellbeing, promote academic success, and prevent juvenile crime and delinquency for girls,
ages 13-19 years of age.
Group and individual mentoring activities are provided on FWISD campuses and City of Fort Worth
Community Centers on Monday through Friday during school hours and after school. Locations include
Diamond Hill Community Center, North Tri-Ethnic Community Center, Artes de la Rosa, and FWISD
Campuses: Eastern Hills HS, Forest Oak Leadership Academy, Diamond Hill -Jarvis HS, Northside HS,
Manual Jara ES, and JP Elder MS.
Girls Inc. staff develop mentoring relationships with the girls to challenge growth, express care
from a positive role model and expand possibilities. A research -based
curricula is delivered in a group -setting. This provides each girl a safe and supportive place to
learn and grow socially and emotionally. Girls Inc. activities are focused on Strong (mental
health & well-being), Smart (educational achievement), and Bold (awareness and community
action) initiatives that support the development of positive coping skills, conflict resolution,
skills, and goal setting in a pro -girl environment.
Summer activities will be provided at Girls Inc. (304 E. Vickery Blvd, FW) with educational & team building
field trips.
