SUBJECT: (CD 9 / Future CD 9) Authorize Execution of an Agreement with Johnson Controls Inc. for
Replacing Computer Room Air Conditioning Units in an Amount up to $804,000.00 for the
Property Management Department
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize execution of an agreement with Johnson Controls,
Inc. for replacing computer room air conditioning units in an amount up to $804,000.00 for the
Property Management Department.
DISCUSSION:
The Property Management Department (PMD) approached the Purchasing Division to finalize an
agreement for replacing seven (7) computer room air conditioning units in the Zipper building. In order
to procure the units, staff issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 23-0030. The RFP consisted of
detailed specifications describing the required responsibilities and requirements to provide the air
conditioning units and installation. The RFP was advertised in the Fort Worth Star -Telegram for four
(4) consecutive weeks: Wednesday February 8, 2023, Wednesday February 15, 2023, Wednesday
February 22, 2023 and Wednesday March 1, 2023.
The City received four (4) responses. One bid was deemed non -responsive for failing to meet the
10\% MWBE goal or to submit Good Faith Effort form. An evaluation panel, comprised of members of
the PMD and the Economic Development Department, reviewed and scored the submittals using the
Best Value criteria.
The individual scores were averaged for each of the criteria and the final scores are listed in the table
