These plants will be grown into larger sizes , saving approximately $12-$14 per plant as a result . M&C P-4288 Interior Plant Agreement: This agreement is for lease and maintenance of all interior plants in the City Hall and the Central Library. Since the plants are leased, the contractor will remove them should the agreement not be renewed. This will result in huge vacant beds which could only be replaced by purchasing the plants outright and replacing them in the beds. The aesthetics of City Hall and Central Library would be affected. M&C P-4289 Annual Color Plants: These are for various locations throughout the City (i .e. , Shakespeare in the Park, Veterans Memorial Park, various neighborhood parks, downtown parks, Water Gardens, etc. ) . These plants are ordered each year as a large, bulk order by various departmental divisions in an attempt to receive better pricing. Without these plants, many beds will detract from the appearance of the City. M&C P-4290 Azaleas : These are for both Trinity Park and the Botanic Garden. As a result of sub-zero temperatures this winter, many of these flowering plants were lost . Without them, there will be empty and partially empty beds, resulting in increased maintenance expense for weed control as well as an unsightly appearance. Funding for all of these purchases is from the General Fund budget . If further information is needed, it will be supplied upon request .
