HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 2987ORDINANCE NO. 2- AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LI14ITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING TM T THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said terri- tory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: Being portions of the W. A. Darter and the J. Jennings Surveys situated about six miles southwest from the Court House, Tarrant County, Texas, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the present city limit line, being the southwest corner of Block 6, Wilshire Addition to the City of Fort Worth; Thence easterly along the south line of Blocks 6 and 7, Wilshire Addition, to the southeast corner of said Block 7, a corner in the present city limit line; Thence north along the east line of said Blocks 7 and 81 Wilshire Addition, to a corner in the said city limit line; Thence east along the south line of Block 8, Wilshire Addition, and continuing east, in all 905.5 feet to a point, being a corner of the present city limits; Thence north along the present city limit line tq a point in the south line of Block 29, Kellis Park Addition, said point being also in the north line of Gambrell Street; Thence east along the present city limit line and along the north side of Gambrell Street to a point where the present city limit line turns south; Thence south along the present city limit line and along the line of the L. L. Rector Tract a distant of approximately 2380 feet to a point; 3/70�,�;�.� ' Thence wes 21 feet to a point[ in the east line of Block 11, South RTITs Addition, being also in the present city limit line; Thence north along the east line of South Hills Addition and the present city limit line 1043.7 feet to the place of beginning, and containing 100 acres of land. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
