HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 3278 (2)ORDINANCE NO. 2 � � t AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: Being a tract of land out of the L. Oldham, L. Cohen. and the M. Garrison Surveys in Tarrant County, Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point in the east line of the L. Oldham Sur- vey and the west line of the M. Garrison Survey 1300 feet north of the southeast corner of the L. Oldham Survey, said point also being where the present city limits of the City of Fort Worth in- tersects the east line of the L. Oldham and the west line of the M. Garrison Surveys; Thence north with the line between said Oldham and Garrison Surveys a distance of 1065-3/10 feet; Thence north 6 degrees 50 minutes west 211-5/10 feet; Thence north 2 degrees 30 minutes east 583-7/10 feet; Thence north 80 degrees 40 minutes east 437-8/10 feet; Thence north 79 degrees 30 minutes east 475-0/10 feet more or less to a point in the centerline of Oak Grove Road; Thence with the centerline of Oak Grove Road the following courses and distances: south 56 degrees 20 minutes east 710-8/10 feet and south 54 degrees 10 minutes east 404-7/10 feet to a point at the most easterly northeast corner of Risinger tract of land; Thence south 1 degree 00 minutes west with the east line of Risinger property a distance of 1344-6/10 feet to a point in the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth; Thence south 88 degrees 46 minutes west with said city limit line a distance of 1796-4/10 feet to the point of beginning, and containing approximately 80 acres. SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall be published one time in the Fort Worth Star - Telegram, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and ef- fect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
