Subject: TEXAS HIGHWAY TRUNK SYSTEM
The State Department of Highways and Public Transportation
will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 20 , 1990 , in
Austin to obtain public input on the selection of routes for
the Texas Highway Trunk System, a planned future 4-lane
divided highway system for Texas. Last fall , selection
criteria were developed, refined and adopted from information
received in ten meetings which were held around Texas. The
proposed Trunk System routes (as shown on the attached
announcement) reflect those criteria. After the input from
this hearing is analyzed, the final version of the Trunk
System will be developed and considered by the State Highway
and Public Transportation Commission for adoption.
The City of Fort Worth has the opportunity to participate as
a speaker at this hearing or to participate through written
comments. We are requesting any comments regarding the
position of the City of Fort Worth and the preferred method
of participation should it be decided that the City of Fort
Worth should participate in this hearing.

Public Nearing Announcement
A public hearing will be held on Wednesday,June 20, 1990 to receive
public input on the selection of routes for the Texas Highway Trunk
System. This is a planned future 4-lane divided highway system for Texas.
Ten previous meetings on the proposed Trunk System were held around
Texas in the Fall of 1989. Based on the public input from these meetings
selection criteria were developed, refined and adopted. The map on the
reverse side of this announcement shows the Trunk System routes now
proposed for selection according to those criteria.
This hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 1990 in
the Lyndon Baines Johnson Auditorium at 24th and Red River Streets in
Austin,Texas. Parking is available at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library
with entrance from Red River Street. The auditorium is on the lowest
building level.
Sign-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. Speakers will be taken on a first come,
first serve basis and will be limited to 5 minutes each. Groups,
organizations, or associations should be represented by only one speaker.
Speakers are requested to refrain from repeating previously presented
testimony.
After this hearing, all comments will be analyzed; the final version of
the Trunk System will be developed and subsequently considered by the
State Highway and Public Transportation Commission for adoption.
If you are unable to attend the public hearing, you can participate

on or before July 3, 1990.
