HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 3093ORDINANCE NO. 36 '73 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWS- PAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRO- VISIONS OF SECTION 4O, CHAPTER XXVIII.OF THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said terri- tory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: A tract of land out of the Louis Wetmore and L. Cohen Surveys, lying just south of the City of Fort Worth, in Tarrant County, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point in the present city limit line of Fort Worth, Texas,'in the south line of Lot 2, Block 18, Southland Terrace Addition, Third Filing, to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, said point beinZ 100 feet east of the southwest corner of Lot 1, Block 18, South- land Terrace, Third Filing; Thence in a northeasterly direction with the south line of Block 18,.Southland Terrace, Third Filing, -the following courses and distances: East 41-7110 feet; south 50 degrees 54 minutes east 51-6110 feet; east 250-0j10 feet; north 42 degrees 40 minutes east 44-2/10 feet; north 81 degrees 36 minutes east 139-4/10 feet; north 68 degrees 35 minutes east 222-0/10 feet; north 49 degrees 40 minutes east 535-0/10 feet; north 84 degrees 40 minutes east 124-2/10 feet; south 5 degrees 20 minutes east 11-6/10 feet; north 84 degrees 40 minutes east 180-0/10 feet to an iron rod in the west right of way line of the I. & G. N. Railroad, said point being 60-0/10 feet from the centerline of the tracks of said railroad; Thence in a southeasterly direction with said right of way a distance of 440-0/10 feet, more or less, to an iron pin where the said railroad right of way widens; Thence south 77 degrees 14 minutes west 30-0/10 feet; Thence continuing with said railroad right of way parallel to and 90 feet from the centerline of tracks, going in a southeasterly direction a distance ^f 17,00 feet, more or less, to a point at the intersection of said railroad right of way with the centerline of Sycamore Creek; Thence up said Sycamore Creek with its meanders to a point where the centerline of said creek intersects the north line of the Oak Grove Road, also known as County Road �1023; Thence in a northwesterly direction with the north line of said road to a point where said north line intersects the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, said point being 300 feet from the east right of way line of U. S. Highway No. 81; Thence north with said city limit line 1270 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning, and containing approximately 67 acres. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort Worth Star -Telegram, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
