HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 4028 (3)ORDINANCE NO. 410eQ AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LI11ITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT.WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXPIII OF THE CITY CHARTER; PRESCRIBING A SAVING CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: Section 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being sit- uated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: BEING a 600 acre tract of land about 8 miles south of the Courthouse of Tarrant County, Texas, and lying in the M. P. Scott, J. J Scott, G. Hamilton and J. B. Renfro (Abstract No. 1275) Surveys, and being more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the present City of Fort Worth city limit line, said point being in the north line of County Road No. 1059 (Sycamore School Road) 387 feet west of the present center line of U.S. Highway No. 81; THENCE south 387 feet west and parallel to the present center line of U.S. Highway No. 81 to a corner in the pre- sent City of Fort Worth city limit line which.lies in the north line of the J. J. Scott Survey; THENCE east with the north line of the J. J. Scott Survey to the west right of way line of U.S. Highway No. 81; THENCE south with the west right:of way line of U.S. Highway No. 81 to its intersection with the south right of way line of County Road No. 1078 (Burleson Card Road); THENCE west with the south line of County Road No. 1078 (Burleson Card Road) to its intersection with the easterly right of way line of the M.K.T. Railroad; THENCE northerly with the easterly right of way line of the M.K.T. Railroad to its intersection with the north right of way line of County Road No. 1059 (Sycamore School Road); THENCE east with the north right of way line of County Road No. 1059 (Sycamore School Road) to the place of begin- ning and containing approximately 600 acres. Section 2. That this ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort Worth Star - Telegram, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter =VIII of the City Charter. Section 3. If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase or word of this ordinance is for any reason held void, or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance. Section 4. That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publication, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
