This was commissioned in recognition of the City's responsibilities under the State of Texas Antiquities Code. The study by Geo-Marine, Inc. , has been completed, and its findings have been forwarded to the Texas Antiquities Committee. In summary, Geo-Marine, Inc. , has documented the site along the western boundary of the new parking lot as a significant find. The site appears to be representative of the subsistence activities of the prehistoric inhabitants in the region between 550 and 1450 years ago. It was judged that the new parking lot would not impact the site. Due to the significance of Site 41TR119, Geo-Marine, Inc., has recommended that the site be preserved and protected. Further, it was recommended that an interpretive sign be placed on the site to educate the public concerning the prehistoric use of this area. This will be done in the near future. Site 41TR119 has been nominated as a State Archeological Landmark. Formal designation is scheduled for November 15, 1991. A letter has been prepared in support of this designation under the Mayor's signature. David A. Ivory City Manager DAI:z -ISSUED BY THE CITY MANAGER FORT WORTH, TEXAS
