A total of $400 ,000 was approved in the year XVI Community Development Block Grant budget for a community facility in the Diamond Hill area. These funds are to be used to either rehabilitate and renovate an existing building or construct a new facility. Phase I funding, approved by City Council November 19, 1991, was for architectural services and included the identification of a site in the scope of work. City staff members, representatives of the Diamond Hill Community Health Clinic, Inc. and the Fort Worth Independent School District have discussed locating the Diamond Hill Community Health Clinic, Inc. 's health care clinic immediately south of the Diamond Hill Jarvis Library at the southwest corner of the Diamond Hill High School campus . This property is ideally located for use as a clinic site: It is near the center of the population in the primary service area of the clinic. It is close to other public facilities (schools, library, recreation center) . It is on a bus line. It is near other shopping areas serving the community. The School Board has informally considered this use for the property and believes that a clinic at this location would be desirable for both the School District and the community. The members of the Board have indicated that a formal request by the City of Fort Worth for the use of the property as a clinic would be favorably considered. The grant of use would be from the School District to the City. The City would then lease the land to Diamond Hill Health Clinic, Inc. for construction of the building. If members of the City Council concur with this concept , the staff will work with the Diamond Hill community representatives and the School District to prepare the necessary documents to allow the City to use the property for a public health clinic and to lease the property to the Diamond Hill Community Health Clinic, Inc. for construction of the building. 4i) XD I RY CITY MANAGER -ISSUED BY THE CITY MANAGER FORT WORTH, TEXAS
