HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 6046-01-2025RESOLUTION NO. 6046-01-2025 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN APPLICATION FORAND ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT, IF AWARDED, IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000,000.00 FOR THE REBUILDING AMERICAN INFRASTRUCTURE WITH SUSTATINABILITY AND EQUITY (RAISE) GRANT PROGRAM FROM THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE ALTAMESA BOULEVARD EXTENSION FROM ANGLIN DRIVE TO DICK PRICE ROAD. WHEREAS, the United States Department of Transportation considers funding requests under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act through the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program which provides grants for surface transportation infrastructure projects with significant local or regional impact; and WHEREAS, City staff identified a need for federal funding assistance to design and construct a roadway extension of Altamesa Boulevard from Anglin Drive to Dick Price Road as part of creating a 40- mile-long regional corridor for the citizens of Fort Worth, Forest Hill, Everman and Kennedale; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth is partnering with Tarrant County and the North Central Texas Council of Governments who have contributed a combined $26,030,000.00 for the drainage study and design of the roadway; and WHEREAS, an application for RAISE Grant funds in the amount of $25,000,000.00 will be submitted by the City of Fort Worth on or before the deadline of January 3 0, 2025; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth finds, that it is in the best interest of the citizens of Fort Worth to utilize grant funds from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to mitigate the costs of designing and constructing infrastructure gaps. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THAT: 1. The City Council authorizes the application for and acceptance of, if awarded, a Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) Grant in the amount of $25,000,000.00 for the Altamesa Boulevard Extension Project; and 2. The City Council designates the City Manager, through his designated representative, to apply for, shepherd, monitor, accept, reject, alter, or terminate this grant on behalf of the City.
